Barcode & RFID Solutions

Interactive data systems limited is specialized in implementing Barcode systems and RFID systems. We provide turn-key barcode solutions, including barcode labeling and barcode scanning systems, RFID systems, barcode software, blank labels and pre-printed barcode labels. Additionally, we can provide custom software development when the barcode and RFID solutions will not meet your business requirements.

Barcode Scanner

A barcode scanner is an electronic device for reading printed barcodes. Like a flatbed scanner, it consists of a light source, a lens and a light sensor translating optical impulses into electrical ones.

Technology Used

 Laser scanners
 Large field-of-view readers
 Omni-directional barcode scanners
 Smart phones scanners
 Handheld scanner
 Stationary scanner
 Fixed-position scanner
 PDA scanner
 Cordless scanner (or Wireless scanner)

Radio frequency identification

The RFID device serves the same purpose as a bar code or a magnetic strip on the back of a credit card or ATM card; it provides a unique identifier for that object. And just as a bar code or magnetic strip must be scanned to get the information, the RFID device must be scanned to retrieve the identifying information. A significant advantage of RFID devices over the others mentioned above is that the RFID device does not need to be positioned precisely relative to the scanner. RFID devices will work within a few feet (up to 20 feet for high-frequency devices) of the scanner.

With RFID you could just put all of your items or purchases in a bag, and set the bag on the scanner. It would be able to query all of the RFID devices and total your purchase immediately.

RFID tags

There are two types of RFID tags:

Passive:

A passive RFID tag will use the interrogator’s radio wave energy to relay its stored information back to the interrogator.

Battery powered:

A battery powered RFID tag is embedded with a small battery that powers the relay of information.

RFID Sensor

RFID active tag based system provides efficient independent, hands-free vehicle identification, access, parking management and tracking system for efficient traffic management. RFID tags based system supports wide range of applications like

 Automatic Vehicle Identification
 Traffic monitoring and surveillance
 Electronic vehicle licensing
 Speed control
 Traffic ticketing
 Parking Management

RFID can be implemented at what has been shown to be relatively low cost for highly accurate (RFID systems provides 100% accuracy) and robust (RFID systems accuracy is not affected by time of day, weather, environmental conditions) system for traffic management systems.
